How a Springville Homeowner Got the Kitchen — and Home — She Always Wanted
A real whole-home remodel by Design Your Price in Springville, Utah
Location: Springville, Utah
Project Type: Home Remodel
Design: 2 months
Demo & Construction: 3 months
Areas Remodeled: Kitchen, Laundry Room, Main Floor
Project Overview
This is a real home remodel we completed for a homeowner in Springville, Utah. The kitchen was the heart of the problem — it was too small, outdated, and simply didn’t work for the way the family used the space. But the scope didn’t stop there. The homeowner took the opportunity to improve the entire main floor: new flooring throughout, fresh paint, updated baseboards, new lighting, a relocated electrical panel, a brand new laundry room, and even a window repositioned to bring in more natural light.
The result is a home that feels completely transformed — inside and out.
The Challenge
The homeowner wanted a kitchen that was bigger, more functional, and designed with intention. The existing layout was too cramped to cook and host comfortably, and the rest of the home had aged alongside it.
Key challenges included:
- A kitchen that was too small and needed to be physically expanded
- Outdated cabinetry, countertops, and appliances with limited storage
- Flooring, paint, and finishes throughout the main floor that needed a full refresh
- An electrical panel that needed to be relocated as part of the renovation
- A window that needed to be repositioned, requiring siding repair on the exterior
The Scope of Work (Rough)
This project touched nearly every corner of the main floor, making it one of the more comprehensive remodels we’ve completed in Utah County.
Project scope included:
- Full kitchen expansion with new layout and added square footage
- New custom white shaker cabinetry throughout the kitchen
- Quartz countertops and backsplash
- Custom wood-wrapped range hood
- New kitchen island with bar seating
- Floating shelves for open display storage
- New flooring throughout the entire main floor
- Interior painting throughout
- New baseboards throughout
- Brand new laundry room
- Relocation of electrical panel
- New lighting throughout the home
- Window repositioning with exterior siding repair
Project Investment: ~$100,000
The Solution
We expanded the kitchen footprint to create a proper U-shaped layout with room to cook, prep, and gather. White shaker cabinets were paired with quartz countertops and a custom wood-wrapped range hood — a design that feels timeless without being overdone. The island added both workspace and casual seating, and the floating shelves brought personality and openness to what used to feel like a closed-off kitchen.
Beyond the kitchen, we treated the rest of the main floor with the same level of care — new floors, paint, and lighting tied everything together into a home that finally felt cohesive.
The Result
The Hoyt home came out as a true whole-floor transformation — not just a kitchen update, but a complete refresh of how the space looks and functions.
Outcomes included:
- A significantly larger, fully functional kitchen with ample storage and counter space
- A cohesive, modern design across the entire main floor
- A brand new laundry room that added everyday convenience
- New lighting and flooring that elevated the feel of the entire home
- Exterior siding repaired and restored as part of the window relocation
